Compressor К890-121-1

Compressors К890-121-1 are designed to compress oil gas in the process cycles of gas processing plants.

A double-effect, two-section compressor. Each compression section consists of 6 stages designed with a vaned diffuser. After each section the gas temperature goes down in air cooling units. A synchronous motor serves as the drive. The rotors of the low and high pressure casing are rotated through the respective multiplexors.
In shops UPG-1 and UPG-2 of Nyagangazpererabotka, a branch of JSC АО SiburTyumenGaz, 5 compressors are operated. Prior to the upgrading 4 compressors were in continuous operation, at high peak times the 5th one was switched up.

On the basis of an updated receipt schedule (increased volume of incoming gas) an objective was set to upgrade a group of compressors in order to ensure the necessary total output and the minimum power consumption in the respective housings. One compressor unit was set aside for the first stage of upgrading to confirm the specified parameters.
To reduce power consumption and increase surge margin of the compressor, the power ratio of the section was redistributed ('load' of section 1 having the highest efficiency, and the respective 'unload' of section 2).

One-piece machined semi-open axial-radial and closed three-dimensional impellers ensuring high efficiency are used in section 1. Medium- and low-pressure impellers expanding the operating range of the compressor are used in section 2.

Stages with combined diffusers narrowed in relation to the impeller in all section are used, which ensures the wide operation range.

A reverse directional unit with a three-dimensional exit section ensuring equal axial gas flow is used before the axial-radial and three-dimensional impellers.

The design of labyrinth seals is improved: staged replacement retainers are used to reduce leakage and simplify installation. In the labyrinth seals special holes are designed to spin gas flow and reduce the exciting oscillating forces acting on the rotor.
In October 2019 acceptance tests were performed, the compressor unit was commissioned. The output was increased by 20%, specific power reduced by 8,0%, the surge margin was increased.
